Change of Employment - Tier 2 to Tier 2

Post by danielliau564 » Wed Aug 05, 2015 10:17 am

Hi,

SITUATION
I am currently working with a company on a Shortage Occupation Code - SOC 2126 as a Product Development Engineer,
VISA Valid from Oct 2014 to Nov 2018,
But I have a job offer for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer role with a new company.

QUESTION
1. Can I be placed under Occupation Code - SOC 2121 Civil Engineer as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer as my job description matches but I am not a tunnelling/geo-technical engineer but will carry out the duties of railway tracks and surveying with a construction engineering+consulting company?
2. I graduated 1 year ago. If so, what is the salary I would need to have (minimum)?

I appreciate to hear from experts as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,
Tan

1. I don't think anyone on the forum can suggest which SOC code suits you best. That is for your employer to decide, based on the job responsibilities that your job requires.
2. Read clause 14 (in particular, sub-clause (d)) of Appendix J, and then the rate of salary for the chosen CoS.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
