Change from Tier-2 to dependent

Hi,

I and my wife are in UK in Tier-2 visa thru different organisations but we stay separate as the place of work for us is in different far off places. My wife is planning to take 3 months sabotical leave and stay with me. Does this requires the visa type to be changed to dependent Visa before she can join me. So, here is list of queries I have

1) Can she use the existing Tier-2 visa to stay in UK with me although she will not be working or paid by her company for the 3 months
2) Can she change the visa type to dependent in UK itself without going back to India
3) We also have a child staying with my wife and is dependent in her visa. Will the child dependent visa still valid even if there is change to my wife visa

Appreciate if someone experinced the same situation or experts in this please reply and provide me guidance. I only have a month to arrange things.

Yes, she is going to be on "leave" - paid or unpaid, doesn't matter.
