Change from Tier 4 to Tier 2

Post by rub77 » Tue Apr 12, 2011 11:46 am

Hi All,

My spouse will be studying from fall 2011 in UK under Tier 4 and I will be having a dependent visa. Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to switch from Tier 4 dependent to Tier 2 in case I have an offer... ? is there any advantage of that switch, or there is no difference whether you are applying from your home country or already in UK under Tier 4 dependent?

Thank you.

Yes (245HD(b)(xiv)).

Yes, there is. As you'll be resident in UK with valid leave, you'll not be subject to the annual limit on migrants and your employer will be able to assign you a "unrestricted" CoS.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
