Change of name due to mistake

I have applied for BC in April this year as an EU national.

I have written on the application a change of name without any deed poll. My name for example is Amy John Adams but on my EU passport my name says Jon Aimee Andrews.

Ever since my birth in the EU country, my name has not been changed and therefore I have my mother's surname (Andrews) instead of my father's surname (Adams). I also have the name Jon as a first name instead of Amy because I am a girl. Also the spelling is wrong in my EU national passport.

I have tried to change my name on my EU passport numerous times but it is quite difficult in the country I used to live in and also because I moved away from that EU country as a minor when I came to the UK.

So I would like to ask whether I did the right thing applying for BC straightaway or not?

In absence of evidence of name change, I believe the naturalisation certificate will be issued in the name as shown in your EU passport.

Is it too late to send in a deed poll now?
