Change of role with same employer on T2G (switch from T2G to Skilled worker?)

My wife is working on Tier 2 General visa sponsored by her employer since Nov-2018. Her visa is valid up to Dec-2023. I am working in the UK on her dependent visa.

Now, my wife is being promoted to a higher role within the same organization. With that the occupation code will be change. I have a few queries in this situation.

1. What's the process to get this done? Does she have to switch from Tier 2 General to Skilled Worker visa under a new CoS? Or her employer just needs to inform the Home Office about this change?
2. If she has to apply for visa again, do I (dependent) also need to apply for her dependent visa again? I have my dependent visa validity same as hers at the moment (till Dec-2023).
3. Do I have to pay IHS again? What happens to my previous IHS fees and visa fees I'd paid? I had paid GBP 1000 (200/year) for 5 years IHS for both.

Appreciate if someone can guide me on this.

yes, but only if her SOC code changes

No, your dependant visa remains valid until its expiry date unless the work end date in your wife's new CoS is earlier.

1. What if the SOC code remains the same, but her job title changes?
2. In case if she needs a new CoS (if SOC code changes), then what happens to my visa validity date
- if the new CoS end date is later than the original
- if the new CoS end date is earlier than the original
3. Sorry, I was asking my my wife's (main applicant) IHS if she has to apply for new visa under new CoS, does she have to pay IHS again? She has already paid IHS up to Dec 2023.

if the new CoS end date is later than the original you'll have to apply for an extension or ILR (if you are eligible at that time) before your visa expires

if the new CoS end date is earlier than the original your visa will be curtailed so that your and her visa expiry dates match

she'll have to pay again but can get a refund of any overpayment
