Change of visa to permanent residency or other from Tier 2

Hi ,
Hope someone can help me clarify the below. I have a Tier 2 visa as I was working with my company in Mexico and then I was transferred as a local to London. I have been working with them here 4 years under the same Tier 2 visa and was wondering if there is anyway of applying for a permanent residence visa or something similar:
1. Mainly because I just bought a house here and I want to prevent any eventualities happening because of my work situation.

Please is it possible for you to help me? there is a restructure in my company and I would like to understand if anything happens to me , what are my options re visa.
