Change of Visa status from Tier 2 work visa to marriage visa

Hi,

I would very much appreciate any information anyone may be able to provide around my wife and my current situation.

I am a Finnish citizen, she is a US citizen. We have been married just over a year now, both working and living together in London. She is currently in the UK on a Tier 2 visa sponsored by her company.

My question is around what the process of changing her visa status to a marriage based visa would entail.

Presumably there would be some way to bypass the process of her having to leave the country to apply for an EEA family permit.

Any help would be much appreciated.
