Chemical engineer as Network Associate

Post by baskey » Wed Jul 21, 2004 12:46 pm

Hi all,

Nice to meet u all once again in the way of this topic. Now it is 3rd month of job hunting for me, had 3 interviews out of which one was -ve and other two still awaiting feed back from them.

In this situation, i am likely to get a job as Net work associate based on my Cisco CCNA certification despite i have null practical experience in this area but employer like to hire me if i could continue in this field and there are no restrictions from HSMP.

Also i never included this skills during my HSMP application. More over i too interested to continue my further career in Networking when chemical engineering! doesn't help for my food and bread( Hope Kaya not hurted by this comment :wink: ).

Could you people through some expert comment on taking this offer wrt to HSMP extension point of views and other opinions, if any would most welcome.

Thanks again,

Regards,

I suggest u to wait for the feedback.And if anything is +ve takeup that job initially.If not then u can go to this networking job.I personally dont think this is going to effect u'r extension application as will be economically active.Also they are ready to consider application even if u are not economically active if you provide the evidence that u did your best to get a job.(See point 3)

HSMP extensions

If you have applied for a HSMP extension, you must submit documents that demonstrate the following:

1.Your economic activity and your personal earnings to date if you are employed, during your stay under the Programme;

2.Evidence of the business you have established, if you are self-employed.

3.If you are not economically active you will need to provide evidence to show that you have taken all reasonable steps to do so during your stay in the UK e.g. several job applications relevant to your skills and experience

Dear k_baskaran70,

I read your post and found it near to my case. I am going to apply for HSMP and working as McAfee (former NAI) Antivirus specialist in an IT firm. Can you inform me what is the job situation for Antivirus expert in UK?

Hi ND,

Thanks for the +ve feed back from you it really gives me some faith. Also it is a major decision from my side wrt to Career direction change as well as HSMP extension. Let me also like to hear others opinion in this regard.
