child benefit??

Hi guys I'm wondering if anyone could shed some light on a matter for me.

My wife is currently living with me, she arrived here on a fiancee visa and we got married here in the uk , applied for FLRM and she was granted a 2year extension.

my question is am i able to claim child benefit for my child with my wife when its born or will it affect our future appliction when my wife applies for settlement at the end of the 2 year visa.
