Child Dependant Visa (born outside UK) for a British Father

Post by JustGotHSMP » Fri Oct 27, 2023 4:45 pm

I am asking this on behalf for a friend.

Brief histoy,

Friend got ILR based on the Family member of an EU citizen. He got a Naturalization last month and is living with his EU wife and a daugher in UK (both wife and daughter also got naturaliation last month)

He has 2 daughers (aged 18+) and son aged 17 from his ex wife( divorced) back in his home country.

Please can someone tell me
1) Can he apply for his son dependant visa?
2) How much funds he need to show?
3) Which forms to use?
4) Which documents are required in support for Child dependant visa application?

Thanks in advance.

Unless your friend can prove sole responsibility for his son, it is unlikely that he will be able to sponsor his son under the UK Immigration Rules.

However, there may be options for the son (and possibly the daughters if they are under 21) as the children of the spouse of an EEA citizen.

I'll move this thread to the EU Settlement forum for others there to advise further.

Thanks Simon for moving the thread in correct category.

My friends kids ( 1 son and 2 daughters) and his ex-wife are in Pakistan.

So can he apply for his son (17 years old ) under spouse of an EEA citizen ( now he is a british citizen)?

Please can you or someone direct me to the the guidance showing the requirements.

Thanks in advance
