Child first British passport

Hi All,

Is British overseas application is the only other possible way to apply for child's first British passport for the child born abroad to a British National? Or can one of the parent move back to UK first and apply for child's first UK passport from UK to bring the child to UK later? I understand the latter is much quicker in processing than the former.

The parents and the new borns are currently away from the country but planning to move back to UK as soon the passports for the new borns are ready.

The option I explored is to apply for the foreign passport for the new borns as one of the parent is non-britsh and apply for certificate for entitlement to prove the right of abode in the UK and subsequently apply for the child's first brtish passport from UK.
