Child traveling on a dependent visa after parents obtained ILR.

Post by Harishh » Sun Apr 26, 2026 8:39 pm

Hi everyone, looking for a quick check on a travel scenario:
Status: Both parents obtained ILR (April 2026). Child remains on a Skilled Worker Dependent visa (valid until Dec 2026).
Travel: July–August 2026 (35 days) to India.
Question: Will the child face any issues at the UK border entering on a Dependent visa when the main applicants (parents) now hold ILR?

We have checked that the child's passport is linked to their eVisa. Aside from the passport and birth certificate, is any other documentation required to ensure smooth entry?

As long is the visa is valid/in date there shouldn't be any issue.
There's no rule that child needs to have same immigration status as parents.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
