Hi, after searching the internet and various comments from people I'm looking for peoples advice on the following: -
I am a British Citizen (born) and recently went to Chile and married my now Chilean wife, we are in the process of arranging all paperwork and certificates so that we can apply for a uk spouse visa so she and her 13 year old son can come and live with me here in the uk, what a nightmare! We will be using an immigration lawyer to fill out our forms as we do not want to make any mistakes, we have had our marriage certificate, her birth certificate, her sons birth certificate, her divorce certificate (married before), a legal document stating her sole responsibility of her son all officially translated to English and stamped by internal relations and ministry of justice in Chile, do we need any more than this?? The British embassy in Santiago is stating that we need it have our marriage certificate legalised at the embassy, others have said different and that it's not necessary, so very confusing!
She is also planned for a KET English test in Santiago as we understand this is also required.
Has anyone any experience of my situation? What did you have to do? Any advice on our situation would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Ade.
