UK citizen - Can the Spouse travel / work in EU countries

What are the rules / requirements for the spouse of a UK citizen (who holds ILR but no UK / EU citizenship) to work / travel to other EU countries ?

I'm sure the answer must be that if she remains a national of a country whose citizens require visas to visit other EU/EEA countries, the fact that she is married to a BC has no effect either way.

Typically no benefit at all. Although it may be easier for her to get a visitor visa.
She could get an EEA family permit if you also moved to the other country to live.

That said, such an approach would not be all that smart as it would not only risk causing loss of UK ILR, but at the very least would likely re-set her naturalisation clock. With no route necessarily to settlement or citizenship in the other country.

Normally it's best to naturalise as British first, and only then think about options in other EEA countries.
