EU citizen moving to the uk before 30th june

Hi,

I am an EU citizen planning to move to UK with my British partner before 30 June 2021. I know I can I enter the UK for up to 6 months without a visa, but I want to get married in order to stay more than 6 months.

Can I marry during the first 6 months of my stay and then apply within the UK for a spouse visa to stay?

As per the Do you need a visa check service, answers to your questions seem to be yes and yes: you could come on the strength of your EU passport and get married if you come before June 30th 2021, then apply for a spouse visa to stay (Please note: I used answers for French citizen, feel free to amend with your own nationality to double check).

The problem is... you need to book an appointment for your marriage at your local register or an approved venue, and the queue might be already long enough to mean there are not slots available before June 2021. Contact the concerned register office and check what the situation is.
