UK Citizen, non resident going to Ireland

Post by kersti » Sun Aug 28, 2005 7:58 am

I've been offered a job in Ireland, in the IT sector. Trouble is that even though I teach part of a degree in IT I don't have a degree in IT.

I currently live in Australia (yes, Australian passport) but I do, however, have a passport stamped British Citizen as well...

Will I be able to take the job?

PS I've trawled through the department of foreign affairs site and couldn't really find an answer

Sorry, you have a British Passport? If so you will see that also has references to the EU. In which case you have a right to live and work in any other EU country (actually any other EEA country) ... and that of course includes the Republic of Ireland.
