Citizenship application and speeding

Post by karmicstud » Wed Jul 15, 2009 10:56 pm

Hello
I suspect i am not alone with this situation. Here goes:-

I am planning to apply for naturalisation following a 1 year stay with ILR.I have speeding ticket issued in Oct 2005 (doing 37 in a 30 mph road SP30 code 60 Pounds fine and 3 points) which was issued by a court following a written guilty plea by me.The guidance notes for AN form state that this must be reported as it is a fixed penalty notice but given by a court (not reportable if not given by court). The guidance also states that "We will normally disregard a single conviction for a minor offence resulting in a bind over, conditional discharge or relatively small fine or compensation order, if a person is suitable for citizenship in all other respects. By “minor offencesâ€
