Hello,
I am going to apply shortly for my wife's British Citizenship and I have a few queries regarding her application. She received her ILR in Feb-2019 via the 5 year spousal route.
1. Her professional referee is our Mortgage and Protection advisor, i.e. Mortgage Broker who works with Mortgage Advice Bureau who has known us more more than 5 years now. Will he accepted as a professional referee by the Home Office? I can see a broker on the list of accepted professions, but just want to make sure there are no issues post application.
2. The Home Office is asking for "Proof of living in the UK for 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen". It is also stating the following:
"If you are a Non-EEA National, you need to include your passport to prove you have lived in the UK for the relevant 3- or 5-year period. If you do not have your passport or it was not stamped when you entered the UK, you need to include letters (for example, from your employer or government department) as proof. Bank statements or household bills are not suitable proof you have been living in the UK."
If I just provide copy of her passport which has all the stamps since she arrived in the U.K. for the first time and her subsequent visits, is that sufficient OR do I need to provide anything else? She has not worked since she has been in the U.K.
I will be very grateful if anyone can help me with these queries.
Regards,
