citizenship apply enquiry based on marriage ?

hi
hi i am applying for citizenship based on marriage . does my wife passport has to be valid when i send it with my application?
i checked the An guide and it said ( the spouse current passport ) does that mean it has to be valid when i send it with my application form ?
