Citizenship approval after Spouse arrival

Post by Mr_dho » Thu Jan 06, 2022 9:43 am

Hello Everyone
I have a peculiar issue that i was hoping someone in this group can help me with.
My wife joined me in Ireland in November 2021 on D visa. I am from a non EU visa required country and was on stamp4 at the time. She hasnt been able to get an appointment at the GNIB office to register for her first IRP yet. I have been living in Ireland since 2014 and applied for naturalisation in 2019.

Ironically my approval for citizenship came in a month after my wife’s arrival in Ireland in Dec 21. My question is that since my status in Ireland has changed now, what does this mean for my wife’s permission?

She was given the usual 3 months to register with gnib upon her arrival which expire in the earlier part of February 2022.

Until you get your naturalisation certificate, nothing would change for her.

Once you have your cert, your wife can change her permission to Stamp 4.
