Citizenship for child

Post by Khan2805 » Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:55 am

I have applied for citizenship for my child and son.
They have got flights booked to travel outside UK in mid december for 3 weeks.
I understand that for my wife i can still go and attend the ceremony after they return
What can happen to my son 6 year old as his certificate will arrive directly without ceremony ?
Is there a way to postpone this ?

Thanks

Your son's certificate could be given to your wife when she attends her ceremony.

Even so, your son simply returns using ILR as evidence to board a plane.

Citizenship can take up to 6 months. You only seem to have applied recently.

Ceremonies can also take a while depending on capacity and time of year for the relevant council.
