Citizenship letter query

Post by dublintogalway » Sun May 09, 2010 11:15 pm

Hi Folks,

I recently got an acknowledgement letter from INIS to state that my application has been placed in chronological order with other applications.I have two questions related to this letter:-

1. There is no reference number given for my application, but on the top of the letter in right side the below information is metioned :-
Your Ref:
Our Ref:- XX/XXXX/XX ( some numbers are mentioned in place of X. )

So I am not sure whether it is my application reference number or letter reference number??

2. In the last of letter the following information is written:-

Important Note:- Your application has not been examined in full and we will not be able to confirm if you meet the other statutory conditions for naturalisation until a further examination takes place.

What does it mean?? What other statutory conditions are required?

Plz help me in my query.

Q1: If the number reads 68/xxxxx that will be your application reference number.
Q2: That is a standard clause that comes with every acknowledgement of naturalization applications. INIS does an initial 'screening' of applications at the time of submission mostly to check if the required documents are enclosed and to check if you meet the five years residency condition. At a later stage (taking up to 2 years at the moment), they will commence a more thorough evaluation of your application. So the statement is just to clarify that for you.

Hope this helps.

Hi 9jeirean,

Thanks for your reply. Yes the number starts from 68/xxxx, so it is application reference number.

Cheers
