US Citizenship questions

Post by stockcarsrus » Mon Nov 13, 2006 5:37 pm

I have a permanent resident card for the US that says I have been a resident since 03/03/03. First of all, how long do I have to wait before I can try and become a US citizen? Is there a book or something that I have to study to become a US citizen? What is involved in all of this. Also, if I do this, and something happens to my husband, can I go back to Canada? Any help with these questions would be appreciated. Also, I had heard that if I don't become a citizen and my husband passes away that I am unable to collect any of his benefits as a non-US citizen... is this true?
