Citizenship validity

If I have PR card for Canada and lived in Canada three years after PR, I can apply for citizenship. How long this will take? Is this citizenship is the issuance of canadian passport or something else like a naturalisation cert? If it is something else like a naturalisation cert, how long it will take to get canadian passport after getting the citizenship cert?

Also to retain PR status, I have to live 2 out of 5 years in canada. What happens if I get Canadian passport and leave Canada? Is there restriction then, same as PR?

Citizenship takes 12-18 months to process. If successful, you get a Canadian citizenship certificate at the end of the process. As a new Canadian citizen you have the right to apply for a Canadian passport.
