Citizenshipt

Post by koto » Wed Oct 20, 2010 6:22 pm

Hi,
i would like some clarification about when i can apply for Citizenship.
my background is:

1) I was married to a EEA national in Aug 2004 then got Residence stamp for family member in June 2005, then residence permit in Nov 2005.
2) got divorce then giving Retain right of Residency in April 2010 valid till 2015

On the UKBA website i qualify automatically for Permanent residence after living here legally for 5years and for citizenship after 1 year with my permanent residency.
My question is when it is counted as legally living here ? from the date i got married or the date i got residence stamp?

Naturalisation

Post by koto » Thu Jan 27, 2011 7:50 am

Hi, thank you for your answer,

Do you think I can apply for naturalisation now based on the information I provided earlier or do I need to wait till I stay 1 year with my permanent residency certificate they issued in November?

Thank you
