Civil marriage certificate.

Hi.

My wife and I are planning on going to India to have our marriage civilly registered, and to obtain a civil marriage certificate.

I am an Indian national, and my wife is a British national. As far as I'm aware, the UK law recognises an Indian civil marriage, and will accept our certificate?

Are there any more documents I need to present to have our marriage registered in the UK, in the future?

Please advise.

1. Yes.
2. No, the certificate issued by civil court is enough. If issued in language other than English, do get an official translation done by an approved notary (check with local BHC/VAC).

Does anybody know whether I'd be able to have my marriage registered civilly in India bearing in mind that I conducted a religious marriage ceremony a year ago whilst in the UK?

If so, what would I need to do? What documents would I need to provide?
