Civil Partnership - Visa extension

Hi,

My partner and I are both foreigners. He recently acquired a working visa (tier 2) for 5 years. I am also working under a graduate scheme visa that is going to expire end of next year.

If we have a civil partnership, will I be able to extend my visa until my partner's visa expires? If so, will I be able to work?

I am trying to see if my employer is willing to sponsor me but at the moment I am looking at my alternatives.
