Claiming benefit over 65

Post by Pranit1 » Tue Oct 11, 2011 2:59 pm

My father is an Ex-Gurkha british soldier. He came here in UK in 2009 in ILR visa. He is 67 years old now. He was in an employment just for 6 months and left the job a month ago. Now, he claimed an elderly benefit but he did not show that he was working because he has no idea if he has to show the previous employment or not. Does it effect on his benefit?

What has he claimed? Pension Credit? If yes, that is based upon current income, if any, so earnings previously would be irrelevant.

Thank you very much for the respond. He claimed for the pension credit, and showed the Army pension. But he didn't submit the P45 form from the recent employment. How it will effect on that?
