Need advice on Child Benefit

I got my ILR on Feb 2018, My wife visa FLR(M) under processing. We had two children, both born in UK.
I applied Two Children British Citizenship , still under processing.

my question is
1) Is i'm eligible to apply child benefits now or i need wait until children get BC?
if yes
1) is there any effect on my BC application on next year?
2) What kind of Benefits i can apply for?
3) How to apply?
4) in applications if i write my wife details, is that effect on her Visa?

1. Yes you can claim child benefit in YOUR name.

2. No.

3. Depends what you qualify for. Use a benefit calculator to see. However, you must meet the financial requirement for FLR(M) and not rely on benefits mainly to support your dependents.

4. How you apply depends on which benefits you might qualify for.

As per me and my wife visa circumstances

If I claim three , is it effect on my wife visa?

Must be claimed in JOINT names with your spouse. No effect on her visa

Child benefit

Must be claimed in YOUR name only however you must list your spouse in the form where required. No effect on her visa.

Tax free childcare

Careful with this. How many hours are you planning on claiming? Does your spouse work??

My situation was also same ( got ILR - 5year PBS, wife and child still on tier2 dependent) .
But when I look the eligibility for my wife's settlement application, it shows a statement:

"When you apply for settlement, you and your partner must:

be living together in your own accommodation
not be using public funds"

it says you (my wife) and your partner (me) shouls not be using public fund. Please can you advice, if this is a recent change?
