What benefits I am eligible to get ?

Was going through all the benefits questions and answers .thanks for the forum administrators.

I got my ILR on 10 year basis . I'm working full time now . My wife and 2 year old son will get their FLRM soon , they are in UK as my PBS dependent . My son was not born in U.K.

As a ILR holder , can I apply for his child benefits ? My son is not yet ILR , have to apply for their FLRM .

How about housing benefit or tax credits ? How I can get housing benefit ?

Yes you can claim child benefits in YOUR name only.

Child tax credits MUST be claimed in JOINT names with your spouse.

How much you MIGHT be entitled to depends on your household income.

Benefits paid cannot be used to count towards the financial requirement of £22,400pa that you have to meet for FLR(M)>

You may be able to claim benefits but believe me it will effect your wife's and child's extention of ILR application.

Best is to go through the painful process of getting ILR for them and then apply for full and all benefits.

On what basis are you claiming it will affect the dependents ext and ILR??
