Hello dear members.
I would like to ask about the benefits that the pregnant lady get when she is pregnant. I have a pouse uk visa. And i've heard that at 6months pregnancy i think. They give the pregnant lady some cash so she can get things for the baby nd preaper for the baby. Thanks

Do you mean the Sure Start programme??

Other than statutory maternity pay, if you qualify, there isn't anything else in terms of benefits that you can get if you hold a spouse visa.

It is not automatic and not everyone gets it, you have to be eligible to qualify.

Hi CR001

Does the same apply for medical prescriptions?

My wife, who is on a spouse visa, is pregnant. After visiting the doctors for a check up, a form was provided, APPLICATION FOR PRESCRIPTION CHARGE EXEMPTION (MATERNITY).

We have not completed and returned this form as we thought this may affect ILR application in the future. Could you please clarify?
