Applying for housing benefit While on spouse visa extension

Hello my wife arrived here on spouse visa, she was given 2.5 years and we have extended it another 2.5 years. We are applying for extension in a year again.
My question is if I apply for government to help me with housing will it effect my wife’s visa extension?

A claim for help with housing costs would be under Universal Credit now rather than Housing Benefit. The initial claim would need to be made as a couple, following the HRT appointment, your spouse should be removed from the claim. The tenancy agreement should be in your name solely, particularly if you are aged under 35.
