Benefit effecting partner visa extension

Post by smehmood20 » Wed Jan 29, 2020 11:06 pm

Hi
I have got indefinite leave to remain, my wife got spouse visa for 2.5 years.
I am eligible for benefits, so my question is
Which benefits can effect her visa extension?
1. Child benefit
2. Child working tax credit
3. Working tax credit
4. housing benefits
Etc.
For her extension I need to make £18,600/year. At that income still we are eligible for some benefits.
HO requirement is £18,600
Are they still don’t allow to get benefits?
Or I should not take benefits on her name and I can take myself?
Regards
S Mehmood

You can get benefits under your name

Tax credits must be claimed in joint names. Child benefit in your name only
(Casa, not CR001)

Thanks for your reply
But my question is for spouse extension we have to have earning at least £18,600/year, at that income if we are taking any benefit, will it effect my spouse visa?? I mean we shouldn’t receive any benefit or receive benefit after showing £18,600 don’t matter?
Thx advance

Claiming benefits you are entitled to has no detrimental effect.
