Child benefit and family ILR relationship query

Hi All,

In Year 2017 I received an ILR via Tier2 General (Shortage Occupation) route. In year 2018 I applied for a naturalisation certificate and now I have a British Passport.

My eldest daughter and my wife are still Tier 2 Dependent and completing their 5 years towards their ILR status.

My youngest daughter was born is UK after my ILR and is a British citizen.

Question: Can I claim Child Benefits for my youngest daughter only?

Question: If yes to above question; claiming a child benefit will affect my wife's and elder daughters ILR application in the future?

You could have claimed from when you got ILR for the other child. You can claim now for both children. It is the parent that claims not the child.

You can ask to backclaim for 3 months.

"Child Benefit can be backdated for up to 3 months."
