Claiming child penefit to protect state pention?

Dear All,
Previously I had claimed child benefit for my two sons. My wife was holding tier 2 dependent Visa that time. My wife recently have got her ILR. We wonder if we should change the child benefit under her name since her immigration status has changed and she is not working this moment to take care of kids at home. I heard this will protect her state pension. And How should we process this? We should stop it first and reclaim under her name, or she just need to submit a new form to HMRC? Can you suggest more convenient way to keep the benefit and protect her pension at the same time? Thanks.
