EEA National, Away for 12 years, coming back - Any Benefits?

Post by Bytwork » Fri Oct 29, 2010 10:46 am

Hi all,

Hoping someone can shed some light for me...

- I have a German Passport.
- I worked in the UK (paid taxes etc) back in 1997 - 1999 or so, claimed no benefits.
- Been living in New Zealand since late 1999
- Am wanting to move perm. to the UK in early 2011.
- Will be job hunting before I arrive!

I will have saved an amount that should get me by for about 2 months, and I expect myself to have found a job by then (any job if required!).

But, if it all turns custard, am I able to apply for any sort of benefit do you think?

All responses would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
