Maternity Exemption (FW8) - Free prescriptions

Post by Mallu_Desi » Wed Oct 06, 2021 3:48 pm

Dear all,

Hope all is well.

I used this forum for guidance regarding my wife's dependant visa. So many amasing people helped me regarding my queries and concerns.

I hope I am posting this question in relevant section of the forum.

I got married on November 2019 and my wife came to UK on February 2021 on dependant visa (I am British citizen). Her visa expires on October 2023.

She hasn't got recourse to any public funds.

We recently found out that she is pregnant. Our GP advised to fill us a form called 'maternity exemption' (FW8) which enables us to get free prescriptions and dengtal treatment.

Can she apply for this? Does this consider as public funds/ affect future visa applications?

Thank you
