Hi,
I have been claiming child benefit based on following exception:
Exception 4
A national of, or a person who has come to live in the UK from, a country that has a
reciprocal social security agreement with the UK which covers child benefit. Countries that
have such an agreement are Barbados, Canada, Israel, Jersey and Guernsey, Mauritius,
New Zealand and the former Yugoslavia (i.e. applies to Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Serbia, and Montenegro, and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia).
In my case myself, my wife and my two children who are my dependents, we all have come from Serbia.I am on Tier 2 General and applying for ILR at the moment.
When our visas were extended in May 2015 agency that was our legal representative got confirmation that I am entitled to child benefit.
Can someone just confirm if I can expect this to be treated in the same way for ILR application?
Also when filling the SET(O) form only I should tick Yes box next to:
5.5 Are you receiving any public funds? Yes No ?
As my wife will go on separate SET(O) I understand that she has to put No as answer to this question.
Many thanks,
Dalibor
