Clarification on UKBA Recognised Accounting Bodies Please

Post by Amosh » Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:54 am

Hello all,

As a person who has overseas earnings, I got my accountant abroad to confirm my self employed earnings. Said accountant is registered with the governing body of the nation namely ICPAK.

The guidance states:

"All accountants must be either fully qualified chartered accountants or certified accountants who are members of a registered body such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA etc"

It is this etc that concerns me. Can anyone shed light on this for those who engaged foreign accountants? Is it the case that as long as they are Certified Public Accountants, Certified Accountants or Chartered Accountants and this can be verified the requirement is satisfied?

Does the UKBA have a comprehensive list somewhere of accounting firms it recognises?
