COA for fiance and I

My fiance and I have decided to get married in the Uk, I'm on a post-study visa, while he's on the tier 1 visa.
I understand we both need to apply for separate certificate of approvals before the wedding, and I need to send his passport with my application, he also needs to send my passport with his application.

The question is, should we send our appications together?
