College of Law equivalency

Post by nzhsmp » Sun May 28, 2006 11:54 pm

Hi there

I’m looking at applying for the HSMV. I have 2 bachelors degrees (B.A/LL.B) which I understand I’m entitled to 15 points for.

I’ve recently completed the College of Law Professional Studies course here in NZ (for admittance to the Bar) – does this entitle me to the professional qualification 25 points? I gather this is tested on NARIC but I thought someone might know.

I noted that Chartered Accountants professional qualifications are eligible so I figured lawyers probably would be too – does anyone know? Many thanks.

As a general rule, you will only get 25 Point if it is "Master's degree" not professional studies. Indeed, I have read in this forum of what you have written about equivalency of 25 point for professional study. Could anybody else who really went into these procedure and really get 25 point for this qualification, please ?
