College Suspended from UKBA and needs new extension

Post by kkmenon » Fri Jan 22, 2010 2:38 pm

Hi all,

I'll appreciate it very much if you could help me please.

I'm studying here in London for the last two years in Computing. I have a Valid visa till April 2010. Quite recently my college has been suspended by UKBA.

My course is a three year degree and have completed the two years and college is asking for the next year fee in advance as always.

I'm very concerned and really want to continue my education. I have contacted UKBA and been advised either to wait for the college decision if it is going to be removed from the list or launch a new application. My problem is the new semester in another college/university would be starting no earlier than September 2010... and visa is going to expire in April.... so on what basis I'll be applying for the extension?

Any solutions/possibilities would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi,
Sorry to hear the problem you are facing. As home office advised that you should wait and therefore not pay them money, unless a decision is taken in favor of them and they are back to UKBA list.

As far as your extension is concerned and further studies, since the TIER 4 guidelines states that if your new course is going to start in more than 4 months of your visa expiry, than you should go back to your home country and apply from there.

The only way around would be admission in other course starting in feb, if university / college agrees and you apply for extension, once its granted, than you again switch to the course you want to take later in sept.
Try to speak to that university and see what they say, as if they can put you on some other course now and later switch your course to what you want.

Wish you best of luck.
