Combined salaried and non salaried employment?

Hi all

I am unsure if I would meet the financial requirement, please see my situation below and could someone advise if this would be classed as not meeting the financial requirement?

I am a contractor through umbrella company therefore I gt weekly payslips.
In january 2015 I got a new contract up till present date, however, at 6 months of working I changed umbrella company which means I have changed employer.
I got a job another permanent job in April 2015 at 45k per annum which was £3750 gross monthly and resigned end of August 2015..
I continued with my contract job and have attained another contract job recently.

My question is can I combine both my salaried and non salaried employment in the last 12 months since I have not been in employment for more than 6 months?
(It does not specify such situations of combining salaried and non salaried in the guidance or appendices)

My current contract job calculated to be about 16,800 annually will this count against the application even tho I have not been in employment for 6 months?
Once I have added all other employment salaries I exceed the requirements.

I would really appreciate your advice on this.
I have a limited company but do not intent on using this as a more of financial requirement as it is way too complicated.

You can't combine current salaried and non-salaried employment. i.e. you've got a salaried job at £17k a year, and a non-salaried job at £1,600 a year at the same time.

Your situation is more like you have changed employer/variable income. So most likely can apply under Category B. Under this category you have to have made at least £18,600 gross in the last 12 months (regardless of how many months you actually worked), but you also need to show that you are currently earning £18,600 per year gross (via letter from employer/gross pay per annum on payslip).

So you will fail on the second part in category B at the moment. You can't apply under category A because you've changed employer.

If you can get a job that gives you £18,600 per year now, you might be able to do it.

Thank you for this speedy reply I am so grateful as my husband was refused in August out of our own ignorance and naivety.
Since I am a contractor and get paid weekly how would they calculate my annual income??
It varies slightly week to week.
Also I have been offered a contract job of £360 a day would this possibly help my application??

I think I have advised you slightly incorrectly, but that might be good news for you. Please read through 5.3.4 to 5.3.9 and example c in this section of the Appendix FM 1.7 SE. I think this applies to you perfectly.

Essentially what it says is that if you are in non-salaried employment your current salary as long as you are working is worked out with the gross average of the last 6 Months of pay multiplied by 12.

Then your previous 12 months salary is worked out as I mentioned in the first post. Can you list your last 12 months of salary please?

We will have to discount the salaried employment as you can't combine with non-salaried, and I think it would be more confusing for ECO (as it is confusing for me!).

So for last 9 months out of 12, you've made total of £19,868. So you meet the second requirement in 5.3.9.

If your last 6 months of non-salaried pay totals £9300, then you will meet the first requirement of category B 5.3.4, because that averages out to £1550 per month gross, * 12 = £18,600. You will have to explain all your circumstances in Part 5 of VAF4A Appendix 2 form as you had two concurrent jobs, and you will have to show your pay slips + the exact amount of money going in on the same date into your bank account.

You will have to provide 12 months of bank statements, and 12 months of payslips (as many as you can if you've worked for less than 12 months). I'd say you have a good chance, but you will have to make sure you explain everything correctly.

As i am new on this forum so completely stupid to find new thread. I have question if anyone may provide answer with evidence please.

I am applying as fiancee visa and my partner is salaried employee for more than 6 months. She also has non-salaried employment for more than six months. My question is can we combine both of these income to meet our financial requirement?
