My employer closed its doors and is out of business. My previous boss told me that he closed/cancelled the companies account for sponsorship. Its been almost 2 months since he did this, yet they are still listed in as a sponsor in the UK sponsor list for tier 2 visas. My employer did not contact the HO about my redundancy, assuming that cancelling their sponsorship would be sufficient since the company closed down.
As I've read in the boards that it takes about a month for HO to review an individuals status, making a decision and finally sending a letter informing that in about 60 days the visa will be invalid. As of yet I have not receive anything from HO.
Since my previous employer is still listed as a sponsor does this mean that the HO may have still not be aware of my redundancy? Could this possibly give me more time to find a new sponsor? As most people understand its quite stressful not knowing the status of when one may have to leave.
Any possible thoughts should I be making plans to leave the country if I don't have a sponsor by the end of the 28 + 60 days?
