Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

Post by usaroi » Sun Apr 19, 2015 8:35 am

1. Where can one find out about what policies are available for this? What do they cover? All we've found is that they would cover only consultants fees, as anyone resident would be entitled to GP and emergency hospital visits anyway(?)

2. Would the insurance premiums be based on age or health? Any ballpark figures?

3. Would your 5 years residence for PR have to start from the insurance coverage date? Or would you be disqualified if you hadn't had the insurance in the past?

4. What about people who have had NHS numbers for a number of years and have received care from NHS doctors on that basis?

5. A bit wild but could an EEA migrant simply pay the equivalent of the surcharge levied on non-EEA applicants?

1 cant answer that it might be considered advertising
2 yes age can make the fee a lot higher
3 UKVI look for reasons to fail your application so will probably say you were not covered during these dates so fail
4 try to apply for an EHIC card, you might get it.
