I would like to get your opinion on something that I am a little confused about. Me and my husband were issued a Residence permit and Residence card after almost 6 months of our application in Sweden. The date of issue isn't the date we applied on but when it was actually issued. According to the Directive don't they have to issue the documents when we atually applied?
The reason I am asking is that because we recently tried to register with the swedish social insurance to claim child benefit for our son who was born in Sweden 10 months ago. They registered us but would only pay from the date when our residence douments were issued. I am a British national and when I initially applied in the Uk for Child benefit the UK authorties said that because my husband pays taxes in Sweden we should get Child Benefit from Sweden, whcih is fine with us but the Swedes are now causing troble!! They are saying that because we have only been registered for a few months (regardless of our son's birth in Sweden) we will only get child benefit for the last few months

Are we right to ask Migrationsverket (swedish immigration board) to change the dates on our residence documents. It will also help as we are planning to live here long term and it will reduce the qualifying period for permanent residence significantly (6 months).
Any replies would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
