Thank you for your reply. The application form did list all of these things you've mentioned but on the website where I am to book the appointment, the only mandatory documents it asks to be uploaded is my passport (which I did). I do have all of the listed documents in hand. Should I wait a few days before booking the appointment in case they ask for more documents?alterhase58 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 8:40 pmThe biometrics appointment is not for a BRP card. It’s just a requirement for the application.
Documents normally are:
Passport
BRP
Life in the UK
English test (not required as NZ is majority English speaking)
Husband’s British passport
2 referee declarations
No idea why the list didn’t show this.
Like you rightly said, the only "mandatory" document is your passport. Your application can't be processed without it.Arrows23 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 8:53 pmThank you for your reply. Thank you for your reply! I'll make sure to get all optional documents and add them to the application.Ticktack wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 10:11 amLike you rightly said, the only "mandatory" document is your passport. The rest "Others" are optional, to prove that you meet all the requirements. If you don't add them, they simply take your money and reject your application.
Trust me, they would lose no sleep.
Thank you for your reply! I'll get the documents together and add them.secret.simon wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 10:24 amKeep in mind that naturalisation is not an immigration application and its processing is different.
It is an optional application for both you and the Home Office, because your ability to live in the UK will not be impacted if it is refused, as all applicants are required to have ILR before applying for naturalisation.
The onus is on you, the applicant, to prove that you meet the requirements, by submitting the relevant proofs for the answers you have provided in the application.
