Continues residence time for Dependent of Global Talent

Post by pa87 » Fri Mar 04, 2022 4:00 pm

Hi everyone,

I have two questions regarding my ILR application. I searched the forum and found 1-2 relatively similar questions, however, as the application fee for the ILR is very expensive I did not want to risk it and decided to ask my questions here. I have been in the UK since 2015 using these visas:

August 2015-November 2018: Tier 4 student visa
November 2018- 20 April 2019: Tier 4- Doctoral Extension Scheme (DES)visa
20 April 2019 to 20 November 2020: Tier 2 visa
20 November 2020 until now: Global talent visa (Endorsed by Royal Academy of Engineering)

And for all these times my wife has been on a dependent visa living with me in the UK.

I will be grateful if you can help me with these questions?

1. Can I apply for ILR, 28 days before 20 April?

2. (the main question) can my wife and I apply for the ILR at the same time? What I need to know is that the time she spent as the dependent of student and dependent of student for the Doctoral Extension Scheme (DES) will be counted toward the 5 years required for ILR eligibility. In other words, if she applies for ILR the 5 years period of stay for her will be (dependent of Global talent + Dependent of tier 2+ dependent of DES +dependent of Tier 4)

Many thanks for your help.
