Continuity of residence surrinder Singh applying for pr

Post by Mymorg » Wed Feb 19, 2014 5:52 pm

Hello!
I wrote in another thread but I don't ink I've completely clarified... My question is... Well firstly let me explain my situation, I'm a non eu national married to a British citizen, we've obtained eea2, have been living in the uk for about 5 months. My husband has been unemployed, but I've been working, the thing is we are both artists so we tend to travel a bit. I'd like to know how I would be able to obtain permanent residence if me and my husband were to leave the uk 5 months out of the year every year for the next five years... I know that I can leave up to six months out of the year, but could we both? Would this somehow render my eea2 permit invalid if we both were to leave for an extended period (under 6 months) out of the year? My husband has never worked in the uk, usually he teaches English abroad so we would go for a bit, work, the come back... Any suggestions? Thank you so much!

The 6 months rule applies to both of you (separately). Leaving the UK permanently has a vague definition so you should be fine.
