Continuous residence for ILR

would like to understand continuous residence clause. I came on short term visa in Aug 16 for 1 year and went back to India on 10th Aug 1016 and came back on 6 Nov 2017 in less than 90 days with new visa. I need to understand if it considered as break in Visa or not for 10 year continuous residence. However I have got my Visa from 10-Oct 2017. .

Date of Visa : 12 Aug 2016
Date of Return : 10 Aug 2017
Date of Expiry :12 Aug 2017
Got Certificate of Sponsorship for new Visa : 07-sep-2017 with a start date of 02-Oct-17

10 Oct 2017 : Visa Start date and now it's continuous visa till now and ending in 2028.

The query is that if My ILR period for continuous residence can start from Aug 2016 (on old visa) or not.

What was the short visa ? If it was a visitor visa, then it does not count

It was a work visa

What work visa ? Which route ?

ICT visa for 1 year
